FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS It is always nice to know that the questions you have about the role of a Toastmaster have probably been asked before. Here are some of the most frequent questions

The Venue management can provide a Toastmaster service, do I need you?
Please ensure the service they are providing is a bona fide Toastmaster from a recognised Guild or Association. Often the Venue will rely on the banqueting manager to carry out this duty and they are to busy with other arrangements to be able to devout time to your needs.

Why should we have a Toastmaster at our Wedding?
As a Toastmaster my duties at your wedding is to ensure all the correct procedures are carried out , Liaise with the venue staff and management and to make sure the Bride and Bridegroom enjoy their special day

Are Toastmasters becoming more popular at Weddings ?
This is your special day and to keep it special you need to enjoy yourself. As your Toastmaster I am there to make sure you are not put under any stress and that your reception runs to time and smoothly. Having a Toastmaster adds class to your day and gives you peace of mind.

How does the Toastmaster stand out from the crowd?
A toastmaster will be wearing a red long tailed coat , starched white dress shirt, white waistcoat, white gloves, black dress suite trousers, black patent leather shoes and carry a gavel.

Why does he carry a gavel?
This is to gain peoples attention so he does not have to shout. At times I will carry a bell as this is a better way of gaining attention when outside a venue.

Will you attend the Church or a civil ceremony?
I would not usually attend the church or civil ceremony as my duties are mainly required at the reception and I will be arriving at the venue at least an hour before your reception to ensure your wishes have been carried out and acquaint myself with the banqueting manager, staff and surroundings.

Will you be in attendance if we get married at the venue?
Most certainly I would be at your ceremony as I would greet your guests and when required will ensure your guests are seated ready for the ceremony, I would also liaise with the registrar for the Brides entrance.
